What has traditionally been the purpose and format for the “Report of Findings?” The purpose likely was to enroll people in our recommendations for their care and the format likely was an original or canned presentation of findings and recommendations in some sort of folder to contain the papers.
And, what do you suppose happened to that folder containing your report of their findings after the patient got home and maybe…just maybe, reviewed it once on their own or with a trusted family member? Filed away never to be seen again.
And, how long do you think “they” retained that vital information you provided them with? Without going into what the researchers say, can we agree on “not too long?”
What if you created an office and information resource guide out of your current report of findings? What if patients had a place to keep the material you provide them with? What if you added to it on a regular basis? What if you gave them a place to keep their weekly HealthTips? Do you think the extra time, money and “wow” factor it would produce would justify the added (maybe $2 at the most) expense? You bet!
So, here’s the concept:
The purpose of today’s report of findings for the wellness practitioner is to provide people with new and better options to have a new and better health future…with you.
The format is a 3 ring binder with a custom report for the new patient with the following dividers:
Vital Office info
Their “Report”
Progressive Exams
Vital Health Info
Newsletters
Now, you can stop printing their last exam every time you do a new exam by asking patients to bring their Report binder to the office with them when they have re-evaluations. You can then just print the new exam and include it in their binder.
Every time you give a patient vital health information like a pamphlet, concept sheet, handout or “One Minute Teaching Tools” concept sheet, punch it and ask them to keep it in their binder at home. Check their compliance by looking at the other sections when they present their binder during re-exams.
Every time you hand a patient your HealthTip, punch it and ask them to put it in their binder when they get home.
Now, you’ve created a valuable information resource guide for your patients that they can refer to, review with family and show friends. I guarantee you that no other doctor will have ever done something like this for them. What do you think will happen with this binder? Out and available because they are sent back to it on a regular basis. Do you think they might look at it again? Of course.
The actual WORD files are included in this download. Use them to custom design your own ROF binder. Our purpose in presenting this one to you is to give you ideas about what it could look like.
